I have read both good and bad reviews of this tractor.  To me, it sounds like there are some people who do have issues with the vehicle and some who do not.  When I purchased my lawnmower, I took it all into account.  My ultimate conclusion was that every company can produce a few items with problems and it is the people who are really mad about it who are motivated to write reviews and try to persuade people from the item because of their experience.

Well, I am a person who has taken the time to write a review on the John Deere L110 tractor who has not had a bad experience.  I bought my John Deere used. The previous owner had installed the front bumper guard and the canopy.  Looking at the unit, it seemed as though it hadn't been used much at all.  It had 67 hours on the clock and the owner said that his son had left the key in the "on" position for about 10 hours and it really had 57 hours on it.

I have no clue as to how it registers time, so I looked at the obvious.  The unit started almost immediately, both lights worked, there was a little smoke in the exhaust when started but not enough to make a difference in my opinion, there were no tears in the seat (so it hadn't rotted or been used enough to show butt placement marks), the paint was flawless, the blade was still sharp enough to cut grass, the engine had few skips and few odd noises, and the mower had all the original parts and they looked "like new" (specifically any wear on the tires).

I had noticed the battery looked to be the original and the previous owner said he had recently changed the oil, sharpened the blade, changed the filters and replaced the battery.  After bringing it home and mowing the back yard then letting it sit for a day before mowing the front yard, I found that it wouldn't start.  I changed the battery and have had no problems since.

The only issue I have found with the mower is something to be expected.  The turning radius should be accounted for when you decide to purchase a mower.  I have to make a number of circles around my trees due to the 18-inch turning radius.  This being my first riding lawnmower and having had to use a self-propelled, push mower prior, I am not sweating it.

I have 1/3 an acre I mow and have three trees, a number of landscaping obstacles, and inclines to mow.  I have had no problems and thus would recommend this mower to anyone who has an acre or less to mow.

As far as repairs, I only find that the routine requirements are necessary.  I don't know if it is because I use it on a third an acre or if it is because I care for my mower like it is my baby, but I have no problems and no complaints for this riding lawnmower.
