Awhile ago I saw a book auction where the seller, mistakenly I believe, claimed that the author's name was actually an earlier name used by Jayne Ann Krentz (aka JAK). Now, unless you are a collector of all the books written by this very prolific author, then this will probably not mean anything to you.  But if you are a fan of her writing, you may be interested in a little background information on this very talented lady and her writing.

  Over the years, beginning in 1979,  JAK has written under a total of seven names; one her own, which is still current, and 6 pen-names, only two of which she is still publishing under.  

 The four names listed below are the ones that are no longer being published. 

Jayne Taylor ~ 1 title ~ Whirlwind Courtship (1979)

Jayne Bentley ~ 5 MacFadden Romance titles (1979)

Amanda Glass ~ 1 title ~ Shield's Lady (1989)

Stephanie James ~ Silhouette Books ~ 29 titles (1981 to 1987)

  The Stephanie James pen-name may still be seen on "new" releases on bookshelves, but these are reprints of her Silhouette titles - they are not new books.

The three names that Ms. Krentz still publishes under are Jayne Ann Krentz, Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle and she uses these names to write different types of books, all still romance novels.
