Jay Cutler - The Jay Cutler Jersey & NFL Bio
Jay Cutler is one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the NFL today. Drafted in 2006 by the Denver Broncos, Cutler first earned the respect of the national football community in college. He played QB for Vanderbilt University, racking up impressive stats, including 60 percent pass completion in 2004. All told, he passed nearly 8,700 yards, scored the SEC Offensive Player of the Year Award in 2005, and managed to start 40 games in a row for Vanderbilt.
Cutler helped lead his Vanderbilt Commodores to trounce southeastern conference rivals Tennessee, Wake Forest, and Mississippi. He also nearly helped them take out the impressive University of Florida crew.
Cutler has been compared with other top 2006 QB prospects, including Vince Young and Matt Leinart both of whom entered into the NFL in the first round draft. At his NFL combine, he impressed scouts with his deft athleticism and tenacity. He completed the 40 yard dash in under 4.8 seconds, and he completed nearly two dozen reps of the 225 pound bench press.
The Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens (among others) considered drafting Cutler, but the Broncos manage to snag him as their 11th pick. Many believe that when the Broncos current QB, Jake Plummer, either finishes his career or gets traded away, Cutler will take over the QB spot for the team. If Cutler lives up to the hype, his jersey could be a collector's dream.
