After spending umpty dollars on numerous corded headsets and other Blue"teeth," FINALLY I found the Jawbone. It actually works like all the others claim to do, but don't. I read another writer's pros and cons and I don't necessarily agree with a few statements.
I agreed with all the pros: superior sound quality; outstanding noise cancellation; plenty of talk time (6 hours); looks nice.
But listed as cons were references to poor fit of the earpiece. The Jawbone comes with several shapes of ear pieces (meaning the part that fits into your ear). It also comes with 3 sizes of ear hooks (the part that goes over your ear) both left and right.
It took a little while, but once I got the right COMBINATION of ear piece and ear hook, the Jawbone fit like a glove! It's very stable on my left ear but not my right unless I change the combination again. I think that's where people go wrong. Both ears are not necessarily the same shape or have the same contours. That's why finding the right combo is important.
I make good use of the Jawbone when I drive. I can look far over each shoulder and it stays right there. I used to love the Jabra ear gels too, but with a little work, the Jawbone will end up more comfortable on your ear. Or at least mine.
I also don't have trouble with the buttons. I like the fact that they are practically invisible, which adds to the sleek styling. Once you learn where the buttons are, you'll wonder why you didn't see them in the first place. The other writer also wrote: "Charger cover on headset can come off and get lost easily."
I have no idea what that means. Mine has never come off. Considering these things are not exactly inexpensive, I take REALLY good care of mine. I found a small pouch I use as a case and it sits safely on a sturdy piece of furniture when charging.
I think the Jawbone is the greatest accessory to cell phones since the cell phone was invented. Have no fear of purchasing one. But do have a little patience getting the right fit.
