As always, Jane's has gone out of the way to create a user-friendly, accurate guide.  Jane's Aircraft Recognition Guide is a MUST for anyone in the aviation business, Civil Air Patrol, or just an aircraft buff. 

The information that is included in this Janes manual includes photos of the aircraft, specs, recognition silhouettes, and all sorts of technical data.

The color photographs and descriptions will help even the novice identify everything from helicopters, cargo planes, General Aviation, military, and more.  The 525 pages are broken down into easy to navigate sections and each section has a unique icon for quick reference.  Each aircraft has a dedicated page that includes information like a short history, country of origin and technical data.  I find this information useful when spotting aircraft flying over our home, when on vacation and at the airport, or when there is a news story involving a specific plane that I am not familiar with. 

This book is a MUST for all aircraft buffs, and those that work in or around aircraft on a regular basis!
