He's 26. He's five foot five. He's a wee little man. But can the man play the piano.

Jamie's breakthrough album Twentysomething broke new ground for Jazz, especially in the United States. Finally someone with some energy and youth had taken a genre and blended it with a current pop sound. I mean the guy covered Pharrel Williams Frontin and turned it into 5 minute 40 second masterpiece. Anyway what has made Jamie such a sucess here in the US (400,000 albums sold!) is his live act. The man bops around the stage like a jumpin bean, slammin on the piano, jumping on top of it, whacking the side of the piano for rhythm. However Jamie has a new album dropping in the United States on October 11th
Its called Catching Tales

the track list is below
1. Get Your Way
2. London Skies
3. Photograph
4. I Only Have Eyes for You
5. Nothing I Do
6. Mind Trick
7. 21st Century Kid
8. I'm Glad There Is You
9. Oh God
10. Catch the Sun
11. 7 Days to Change Your Life
12. Our Day Will Come
13. Back to the Ground
14. My Yard
This album is amazing. It captures so much of his piano playing and Dan the automators Nakamuras production on Get Your Way provides an excellent first single.
I think billboard magazines review of Jamie Cullum says it best...
"Jamie Cullum puts his multifold talents on display on his impressive sophomore outing, "Catching Tales." He is a fine jazz bird, a solid pop songsmith and an exuberant performer on this 14-song effort, which has not a dud in the pack. There is a buoyancy to Cullum's delivery on originals like the full-sail jaunt "Nothing I Do," the funky "Back to the Ground" and the Motown soul-ish "Mind Trick." He plays the crooning jazz card on the Jimmy Dorsey ballad "I'm Glad There Is You," while putting a hip electronica twist on the standard "I Only Have Eyes for You." The two standout tracks are Cullum's reflective "21st Century Kid"and the jazz-infused, hip-hop-energized opener, "Get Your Way," a collaboration with Dan the Automator built on a brass-swinging sample from a Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra tune."
If you have the itch go see Jamie Cullum live
I plan to improve this guide over time with more Jamie info, the man is freaking amazing please listen to his music.
