The automotive term 'JDM' refers to genuine Japanese performance parts & cars. It means 'Japanese Domestic Market', and refers to trick, hard to find parts, from Japan.
But it has become a catch-all for all the imitation junk out of china. Catch-all, as in catch all the eBayers who don't know any better.
Like black & silver flywheels marked JDM (that the paperwork shown in the auctions has chinese, not Japanese characters), with names that are NEVER seen in Japan.
And Blow-off valves, waste gates, turbos, and turbo manifolds, that look just like ones from true Japanese manufactures, like GReddy, HKS, Apex, but are MUCH cheaper. eBay has finally cracked down on the fake stuff being sold as the real thing, but they have NOT blocked selling these counterfeit items.
All you have to do is go to alibaba (listings of cheap junk chinese manufactures) to see where this junk is coming from.
Most of this stuff would not be safe on a lawnmower, let alone a high performance car.
So steer clear of sellers making false claims of items being 'JDM'.
You have a computer, do the research before you bid. All the real JDM manufactures have web-sites, and their US distributors do also.
