When you purchase an item, whether it be the seller or the buyer. Whether they sell mass production or one-of-a-kind items. I suggest buying the insurance for the item. Most of the time, by sheer luck your items do arrive to you not broken or lost, but that one time you don't buy insurance the post office some how managed to throw your items around. and that one time, your time is broken.
Personal experience, I did buy this item mention in the link. I contacted the seller, and told them that my item arrived broken, even though the other item in the same box did not break. I also explained that I did not purchase insurance and that it was my own fault. They were extremely helpful, and the customer service was outstanding. They offered to replace it or exchange the item. I politely declined because I felt that it was my own fault, because I did not buy insurance and that they should not be out because of my decision not to purchase it. I was very grateful for there understanding. Be sure to insure your items it is the safe way for both parties.
Not all buyer and sellers are understanding. I will return to the store, because of the great friendly customer service I received. Ebay is a great outlet in selling and buying your items, and people like this makes it safe and worth while. =)
