It seems as though every conversation I have about eBay always begins with the same old.... "What do I Sell on eBay and where do I get it?"
While this is a good question wouldn't you think a better question might be... "Exactly How do I make money on eBay?" The key word here being HOW.
Let me explain why asking HOW instead of WHAT is the smartest question you'll ever ask a successful eBay seller.
The thing is, around 54% of listings on eBay simply don't get a bid yet alone a sale. Not good eh? And here's why. About 95% of sellers just don't know what they're doing or why they're doing it. Instead of taking the time and investing in knowledge, they simply copy what everyone else is doing and hope for the best!
What's that? Why on earth would anyone who's serious about making money on eBay go in blind? Dumb.
Here's why.
Why waste years and buckets of money fumbling around praying you'll make a sale when chances are you'll make little if anything worthwhile?
To me that's simply too painful. There are hundreds and thousands of sellers out there who actually pay more in eBay fees than they make in profits. The worst thing? They've got no idea!! They're so into eBay that they just don't realise they're spending hours and hours listing products that sell for less than what they have to pay in fees.
But there is a flip side.
Sellers that DO know what they're doing. Including me.
Once you know what you're doing...never again will you ask the question...'What do I sell and where do I get it?" Because you'll know the answer. You will understand how to find hot, untapped markets and source the products people simply want to spend money on.
You will know up front how much money you're likely to make and be able to select highly profitable untapped markets. How nice would this be?
That's the whole secret here you know. Knowledge. It's powerful and if you have it...the world really is your oyster as the saying goes.
For my money, I'd rather be loaded with knowledge than ferret around for years in fear looking for the answers and never really knowing if you've got the right info or not.
All the smart marketers I know that are really making the money (and I know tons) are ALL loaded with knowledge about their industry. In other words, they're all EXPERTS. They know exactly what to do to make money every day of the week and it's no mistake they're successful.
In fact, nearly everyone of them that I've met personally has openly stated from the stage that success came from being mentored by another who had what he / she desired.
This simply means that if you want the same success as someone you admire, you must know and do exactly as they are doing.
Never, never, ask the opinion of someone who hasn't the results you're after.
No matter how much you love them! ;-)
So...if you're gathering information right now...remembers the magic question.
"Exactly HOW do I this?" instead of "What do I sell and where do I get it?"
This one question just might be the smartest question you'll ever ask.
