I found a great treatment of the subject: : "Overrated hype. Bought it because it was supposed to be the best. It's crap. You have to scream into it to be heard in a loud live rock setting. Decent noise rejection (but then it rejects your vocal input). I used it for about 10 years, was barely able to speak after a gig. Then I purchased a cheap Samson r11 and s12 and now the three shures are in the cable box just in case the drums need to be mic'ed. Don't fall for the bull like I did. For the money for one of these gold plated turds, you can have SEVERAL GOOD MICS. "

Even though I do not totally agree, it's interesting to get an opinion such as this.
