How can you really tell what you recieved is a REAL pair of Frankie B Jeans?
I've bought and sold on ebay for a couple of years now - I've been on the losing end of more transactions than I'd like! This little guide is to help others not lose money on a fake Frankie B product.
so,
How can you really tell that what you recieved is a Real pair of Frankie B Jeans?
* First : try them on!
~ how does the farbric feel - most Frankie B's have some stretch to them so the fabric should feel and fit like it has some stretch to it.
~ The fit : most Frankie B's run about a size smaller than most others, but not three sizes smaller... - so if you usually wear a frankie size 6 and for some reason you can't even get this pair over your butt...check them over more closely they might not be real...(or you've had too many donuts since you last bought a pair...)
* check the label - A true Frankie B should say "made in USA ...of imported fabrics" not Hong Kong...not China.
* Check out the stitching. A $ 200 pair of jeans should look like a quality product.
~ are there strings hanging off
~ the pockets: back, side, coin : are they stitched inside neatly or is there extra fabric messily stitched inside.
...Even Hollister/Abercrombe and Levi manufacterers don't leave extra fabric on the inside of their pockets.
~ Is the stitching the color that it should be?
* The back Pockets : this is the main focus of most of the Frankie B line.
~ The design - compare it to pictures from a reputable seller try the Frankie B site and/or another authorized dealer like Revolve Clothing
(they are an authorized frankie seller)
... does the color match, the placement of the design on the back pockets...
~ check out other embroidered designs - are they the same color, shape, size and level.
* Frankie tags
~ are they the same color and set in the same place as those pictured at reputable sites
~ some frankie B's have a little Frankie tag on the side of the coin pocket - if this is missing( and the pair you have should have it) - you don't have a real frankie.
It's amazing how close some of these fakes look to the real thing! My suggestion is to always pay with Paypal and to ask questions about and for better pictures any time you have any doubt.
Also check the feedback and READ the comments. If someone has 100% feedback but only has 10,15, 20 transactions check thier I.D. History and ask for more pictures. - this doesn't make them untrustworthy just inexperienced and you can't get real feel for their trustworthiness.
Visit the frankie B site and the other authorized sellers on the internet for pictures of what a Frankie should look like. Revolve Clothing's online site has awesome pictures to compare items too. (close up of front,back,side...)
~ Also don't assume that someone meant to sell you a fake - sometimes the person selling the item bought it from another and doesn't realize that they are selling you a fake pair of frankie's.
I hope this helps! ~ Audrey:)
