I don't know about you, but when I go anywhere, I have to load up my two boys (ages 1 and 2). I love them dearly, but it is really a hassle to go into stores with them because not many stores have carts that handle two children. Yes...Wal-Mart does...but it takes me at least 10 minutes to get them fully strapped in correctly while bending over the cart and my children.
Therefore, for me, it is better to shop on line for many things, including my diapers. Sometimes, but not always, the cost online is a little higher...but you need to calculate all the factors:
Buying on line: Don't forget to add EVERYTHING up. Price of auction, shipping, if they give a discount for shipping on multiple purchases, tax, if you have to buy a money order or mail the item...then, make sure you divide the total cost by how many diapers are in a case. Not every case has the same amount in them, and our Wal-Mart doesn't come close to the large cases you can get online. This is the only way you will get a true price per diaper.
Buying at Wal-Mart: Price of diapers, sales tax, gas to get there, anything else your children have to have to keep them calm during the shopping...then divide that total by the number of diapers you are buying.
I found that even with coupons, I was better off buying online. Power to the Mommie that can wait for diapers to go on sale AND be able to get to the store during the sale with all the coupons she needs...I'm not one of those Mommies. I am a Mommie that knows when all I have is about a week's worth of diapers left, and then I let my fingers do the walking online. Or at least I used to till I found the ultimate place and share it with you on eBay.
This concept goes for any item you are shopping for. I hope this guide helps to open some eyes for all the Moms out there that can't always get out to get items they need.
