Silverplate flatware is definitely marketable here on Ebay.  While searching for sterling silver flatware, I run across many silverplate pieces.  Here I'll tell where to locate silverplate, how to select silverplate, best ways to market silverplate, and recommendations on photographing your finds.

Best places to find silverplate flatware:

• First of all, your own silverware drawer
• Granny's good Sunday "silverware"
• Estate sales
• Thrift stores
• Consignment

• And my personal favorite ~ Setting a beautiful dinner table.  There is nothing more romantic and warming on your dinner table that a beautiful assortment of mixed and matched silverplate.

What silverplate do I select for my auctions:

• Look for silverplate with maker on back
• Look for pieces without alot of wear (no one wants pieces where the silver has rubbed off)
• Look for pieces that are quite decorative
• The more weight to the piece, the better
• I prefer silverplate knife blades, but stainless blades also sell well

How to market your silverplate flatware:

• First and foremost the silverplate needs to be cleaned. Do not use TARNEX.  I like to use Wright's because you can just rub it on and rinse it off with water.  There's nothing more eye catching than beautiful silver.
• Describe each piece in your listing, giving characteristics, flaws, and any markings or designers
• Arrange your items in LOTS of 12 or more , unless you have a particularly striking piece.
• Be available after your listing is posted to answer questions, there will be many

Photographing your silverplate flatware:

• The best background for your pictures is white. 
• Use indirect lighting so your flash won't reflect
• Get pictures of all items (Auctiva.com is great for this, because you can take lots of picture and post them for free)
