One of my top picks of philatelic investments has to be the Scott #630 White Plains souvenir sheet. I have been asked several times over the years what one should look for when investing in this item. I would defiantly recommend purchasing this item in mint never hinged condition if you are considering this as an investment. Here is a simple check list which should guide you through purchasing an investment grade copy:
1) Check for soundness. Make sure the item is free of creases, wrinkles, thin spots, small tears, toned spots, pencil notations and perforation separations.
2) Check to make sure the copy you are considering has fresh never hinged original gum which is free from disturbances, natural creases, inclusions and skips.
3) Make sure ALL of the surrounding margins are complete and full.
4) Purchase only a fresh clean example with bright vivid color in which the individual stamps are well centered.
5) Have your #630 sheet professionally graded and certified!
