First of all i want to apologize for my English, it's not my naitive language. I live in Norway and even if we start to learn english in 1 grade it's far from perfect.
As the world get smaller and smaller, moms like me explore more and more of the internet for in our "hunt" for all the special items we can't get in our local store.
I started at ebay 2 years ago and I had my mistakes and not "so very good" experiences, but I have learned. And Ebay is now all fun and a perfect shoppingmall for items for my children.
I have decided to share some small experience with other international ebayers that maybe can help a bit on the way. ( advices and tips I would have liked to have my self when I was new in the game)
- Pay Pal is a safe and secure way to pay your items on ebay. Do not bid before you have made a Pay Pal account and it's up and working. It takes some days before your creditcard is confirmed and you get your code from you own bank. It's supereasy to register and use, and SAFE. I have paid over 1500 items on the internet with Pay Pal and never had problems. All other payment options are superexpensive and takes to long time.
- Take your time to check out USPS site on international shipping. There are several different options, depending on delivery and confirmation. (My personal favourite is USPS first class (takes long time but always arrives), and USPS priority international (arrives in 10 - 16 days)
- Auction checklist before you decide to bid:
How is the sellers feeback? (Negative feeback does not always mean that there is something wrong with the seller.)
Does the seller accept paypal?
Does the seller ship worldwide or to your country?
What kind of shippingmethod does the seller prefer?
Does the seller combine shipping for multipple wins?
Does the seller charge a handling fee?
Do always ask questions to the seller before you bid? If it's not stated in the auction, use the question form. It's so much better for both, and you will not have suprises.
- Educate yourself about leaving feeback - DO NOT LEAVE NEGATIVE OR NEUTRAL FEEDBACK BEFORE YOU HAD CONTACTED THE SELLER FIRST! (Remeber: If you do not get in contackt with the seller, he could be away on holiday, he could be ill....and so on)
Remember!! Most sellers are "stay at home moms" moms like you and me. We have lives, kids, families...and there is a lot of things happening in a persons life from time to time. Be patient and always think the best of a person.
I never left negative feeback! I did not have to.
Good luck and happy bidding!
