Hi everyone,

This is my first, I hope not last, article, so I would be appreciating if the readers wont judge very strictly. I would like to start to share my own experience as the non-US resident on EBay. I tried million times searching for needed item, and when I found exactly what I was looking for at the bottom of the page there was line stating “International Bidders please don bid, only for US. “

I understand that with development of all what is related to E-commerce, the smart scam schemes also updating and developing. I was scammed twice, thanks GOD, not on Ebay, I also lost money. But my point is not on this

I would like to bring my own example.

Pay pal

I have been using EBay facilities, using my friends account several years ago, and recently I was in need of some IT staff, so I decided to register and started bidding. The first problem I have been faced with was- PAYPAL registration. Unfortunately, my country is not in the list of Pay pal supported locations. That cost  me negative feedbacks. I tried to use another resources and I was thinking that – I am not going to cheat this people (the sellers), and they will never send me the item without payment first. But I was wrong. Now I found a friend of mine having the US credit card and the Pay pal Account and she makes all payments for me.

 Shipping.

It is very difficult to find the seller ready to ship outside the US. I may say it is extremely difficult.  As I mentioned above, I understand these seller’s positions. They have been (80%) scammed, cheated, ripped off. Because of TRUST, most probably. In my own case, in order not to violate or misuse EBay regulations and rules, I contact every single seller of the item I need to confirm whether he is ready to ship internationally. In 99% the reply is negative. And I understand them. It is much easier to ship within US, country of rule of LAW, where you can easily find the person and trace the item, rather than sending somewhere you don’t even hear about. But I would like also to note that there are a lot of normal, honest people outside US, who are willing to play the fair game, who want to join to EBay community, and it is not a problem to ship the item, since you have the shipping company on every corner in every city.  While writing this, I received the message from eBay user who again denied sending the item outside US.

 The bottom line:

To make the long story short I would like to say that there are normal people outside US, at there are a lot of scammers within US. In my own case, in order to honest and make the people trust me  I decided to created ME page, where I pasted my photo and also mentioned my place of work.

I believe I tried something to make my, and people like me, life here a bit easier.

Best regards,
Ayazito
