IMPORTANT NOTE: In order for your plug-in to work properly, you must upgrade your ARCHOS device to a minimum firmware version of 1.5.56 (ARCHOS 504, 604, 604 Wifi, 704 and 704 Wifi) or 1.5.57 (ARCHOS 404 or 404 Cam).

You can download the firmware (.aos file) from http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/updates.html
  • Save and Unzip the plug-in
Save the attached zipped file (type .zip) to desktop on your PC and unzip it. This will give you a folder with the plug-in inside of it. Keep this folder and plug-in just in case you  need to re-install it at a later date. If you bought more than one plug-in, you will have to install one after the other, not at the same time.

  • Connect your Archos device to your computer
Using the ARCHOS USB cable, plug your Archos device into your computer and connect in “PC Hard Drive Mode”. Double click to open the Archos ‘hard drive’ (your Computer sees the Archos device as if it were an external storage device).

  • Copy the plug-in onto the Archos storage device

Copy and paste the plug-in (extension .aas) onto the Archos device, but not into any specific folder (this is so-called root directory). Copy one plug-in file at a time.

  • Activate the plug-in

Safely disconnect your ARCHOS device from the computer by using the green disconnect arrow icon in the system tray and then unplug the USB cable. Your ARCHOS device will automatically start the update. You will be prompted to re-plug in the USB cable in order to power the device during the update process. The update process will take about one minute. Do not unplug the USB cable powering the device during the update as this could potentially damage your device.

  • Repeat the last two steps for another plug-in
