Embroidery Digitizing and Setup and Apples to Apples comparison:
When purchasing Embroidery note that all suppliers are not equal.
Some companies will offer free embroidery digitizing, or set up. Others will charge $75-$100 for average sized logos ( approximately 6 square inches, with partial fill )
The main difference between free or very inexpensive embroidery
digitizing is as you may guess quality.
Good embroidery is the result of good digitizing ( or a good embroidery tape) as some may call it.
Bad embroidery typically results from digitizing done in China or
by a inexperienced digitizer.
Poor embroidery often is caused by innappropriate thread tension.
Too little tension results in the embroidered design, logo, or words to hang loose on the garment. Of course this will eventually lead to snagged threads pulling loose. Too much thread tension, and often embroidered garments will pucker around the embroidery. Often times puckering is not evident on a new shirt or jacket, but will appear after only one or two washes.
Reputable embroiderers should offer a one year warrantee on embroidery! If not buyer beware
