I owned and opperated a auto repair for 23 years and your information is what I preached to my customers for years. I always said if they want to sell you an extented warrenty or want you to pay extra because the vehicle passed their "inspection" the vehicle is no good. My family had a lot of problems with local dealerships with new car warrenties. the classic is a new car with 8000 miles I servised at 2500, 5500,and 8000 miles and had to add at least two quatrs of oil between each service and no signs of external leaks. when picked by the dealership at 10:30 am repaired and returned by 4:15 the same day, with a note "oil problem taken care of you will not have to add oil for a long time now". when I got home I removed the dip stick and found out their repair was to add at the least one extra quart of oil to the engine thus incressing the interval between adding oil.
