My biggest hobby is collecting the dolls, toys and other goodies I remember growing up with. Any item I sell through eBay or on my site are duplicates and goodies I've found along the way. I've bought, sold and traded online for many years and have learned a lot about collecting ethics. I am a fair seller, as well as, believing buyers have rights too. One of the most important pieces of advise I can offer to anyone buying or selling online is to be informed and be fair! As a seller I will always work with the buyer to make sure they are completely happy with their purchase and that I have provided as much information about the item I can. I try to research each goody I find to make sure it gets the best exposure and offered at the best price. As a buyer, and I'm sure there are many of you out there who'll agree with me, nothing is more frustrating than buying an item that wasn't totally as described (any flaws are worth mentioning---including smoky, mildew or pet smells). After spending so much on an item you've been looking for another issue many buyers face is the shipping and handling charges. Yes, we need to pay for shipping and we need to pay to have the item insured. That's a given. Most sellers are pretty on target with shipping and their range is usually correct. However, there will always be some sellers who need to make an additional few dollars. They will say they have Paypal fees, listing fees, handling charges. Fine. Consider this, the seller is listing an item and ethically should never charge the buyer for their listing. Nor should the buyer be responsible for the seller's eBay and Paypal fees. I personally have received an item and if it's only .50cents over the quote...no biggie. If it's $2.00 or more I have the right to dispute this overcharge and will not hesitate to ask for the refund for the difference. I've also been fairly lucky that most sellers are willing to comply within reason. Just a few tips from me.
