Here are a couple tips I’ve come across that have helped me in my eBay business and might help you in your eBay sales. Good luck!
1. A picture is worth a thousand words, and when selling an item on eBay, buyers don’t want to spend their time reading a lengthy description of your item when they can just look at the picture. Spend some time taking a bunch of pictures and playing with exposures and the lighting; you’ll be surprised how professional you can get a picture to look.
2. Spend some time researching items that have sold on eBay by creating a free account and using the completed auctions search in the advanced search options. Many people often make the mistake of thinking someone will bid on their item because you have listed it at a good price. You could list the item for $0.01 and it still might not sell. You have to know what is selling and what people want.
3. Make sure the layout of your auction page is easy to read and navigate. I can’t tell you how frustrated I get when I find something I want to bid on but spend 5 minutes looking for shipping information or payment options. Space your page out so it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and bidders can find information they need in order to bid.
4. Customer service skills is a big one. Once the winning bidder has won the auction, be prompt in contacting the winner regarding payment options and shipment. The more supportive and responsive you are, the more likely you’ll get a return customer. Once the transaction has completed, make sure to leave the buyer feedback.
