I Received Free Vintage Antique Art Glass Today in the Mail
It was never ordered, won, or paid for...
I have no idea who sent it since the return label has a person's name whom I don't remember. I could have sold or bought from this person in the past but her name does not ring a bell. Ebay only goes back a certain amount of time and so does Paypal. I received a BEAUTIFUL OLD piece of art glass and I HAVE NOT THE FOGGIEST IDEA how I got it.
The shipper hand-wrote a Priority Mail address label, addressed to me with her return address. There is no ebay ID in the box or receipt (why would there be one since I never, nor did anyone in my household buy a piece of old art glass?) I just don't understand how I got it.
It Could Be:
1. A mis-labeled sale on eBay from a seller who had me as a buyer sometime in the past and hand wrote the wrong address, and never shipped to the correct buyer, or
2. An angel gift from someone who knows I like this color
And a 3rd possibility: A BUYER waiting for their beautiful art glass that will never come in the mail, a claim may be filed and both parties will be incredibly frustrated
ALLL BECAUSE the shipper could not track their item from their computer
PEOPLE: IF YOU HAVE A COMPUTER, USE IT. USE IT! TO SELL ON EBAY, you have a Computer, WHY DON'T you protect your sale and the buyer's piece of mind with printing a shipping label with eBAY? For goodness sake, it costs nothing extra. The time and trouble you spend DRIVING to the Post OFFICE to check out all your items is so great compared to the few drops of ink and paper you need to complete the label. Plus if you do it online, you usually get a discount.
Either way, there is no way to find out if this was a mistake or intentional...unless I write the person a snail mail letter and ASK. Yes, it IS A BIG inconvenience to find the person who sent this to me. I could track their name in whitepages.com. I could ship the box back to her C.O.D. There are about as many ways to try to get it back to her as there are reasons why an online shipping label should be used.
HELP YOUR SALE! DO IT RIGHT with an ONLINE shipping label.
I FEEL GUILTY now. I don't WANT to do all this work!

A buyer who ships with online shipping gains the following:
1. FREE (both buyer and seller) Tracking and delivery confirmation (if certain kinds of shipping are selected)
2. The possibility of a mis-labeled shipment WILL NEVER Happen since there are links to the item with the correct person's name who bought the item
3. The seller can track and find out who SHOULD have got the item and who DID get the item
I AM NOT ANGRY but I am confused. Was this a gift or a mistake? What am I supposed to do with it? What do I say?
NOT PAYING with eBay's shipping labels is a REally DuMb thing.
