There are many replica Imperial German War Ensigns for sale on ebay. Some people buy them as WWI historical reproductions, others because they mistakenly relate it to Nazi or racist movements. Regardless to why people buy them, most are poorly designed and printed. To further complicate matters, many ebay sellers are too lazy to show actual photos of the flags they have in stock, or at least disclaim the photo they use in a conspicuous manner.
A true reproduction should have this level of detail:

A true reproduction should have this level of detail:
- the eagle in this picture has a high level of detail. The feathers are defined and organized, and they taper off. The feet are well defined, the head and crown are clear, and the tail is symmetrical and defined. The iron cross in the corner is a proper cross. This is an exact reproduction! Buy or sell this flag! And sellers, advertise that this is what you have in stock!
- The eagle in this flag is not well defined. The feathers are disorganized and detail is hard to make out; you can't make out the feet, and the head and crown are blobs. The iron cross is not proper, but looks more like an hourglass with wings. Sellers, if you have this in your inventory, send it back to the person you bought it from and tell them it's garbage!
- Proper iron cross, but the eagle is more of a black blob in eagle shape. Little to no definition, and lacking symmetry. Don't buy or sell something like this!
- Again, proper cross, but a black eagle blob; no definition, and a smeared tail.
Demand higher quality reproductions, don't buy or sell substandard merchandise! Send it back to China or Taiwan and tell them they got it wrong and to do a better job. Ebay buyers, don't buy from lazy sellers who won't show the actual item they're selling; and ask for higher quality reproductions of not only this flag but any others; and all reproduction items!
Buyers, ask sellers to make sure that the flag they are going to sell you is what's shown in the first example, if the first example flag is what's pictured!
