This guide will address only the various clasps for TOGO.  The Imperial German Colonial Medal (Kolonialdenkmünze often abbreviated KDM) was established by Kaiser Wilhelm II on 13 June 1912 with revisions on 17 February 1914.  The medal with clasps was awarded retroactively.  The clasps were awarded for participation in various actions in Togo from 1894 to 1903 and were worn on the Kolonialdenkmünze.  If you are interested in details of these events, some internet sites provide further information (the absolute best specialist sources are in German) but specialized history books are the best English language source.

The TOGO clasps were awarded only to the Imperial German Togo Police Troops and attached personnel for their Africa service.  While the medal is not common, these bronze clasps possibly represent the most available series to the KDM.  Currently, this clasp is only known one type:  same width as the ribbon, wide lettering, and with prong backs.

It is not an authorized clasp although the very few examples look perfectly correct.  Believed to be an error by a maker(s) for displaying the clasp series in 1912-1914.  The discussions by specialist German collectors indicate that if it was to ever be authorized, it should have been for services against the Dagomba and Konkomba but evidence does not support the award.
