There is a big problem with imitation guitar scams here on eBay. Many sellers are selling cheap imitation guitars as name brand -- DONT BE FOOLED!

Ovation
Gretsch
Martin

Just like fake Rolex's and imitation Prada bags in New York on the street corners, these guitars are NOT genuine name brand products -- rather just cheap replicas with the name brand stamped on it.

Some hints it may be a FAKE:

• Seller is from CHINA
• Private Listing
• Item listed in the wrong category
• The price seems too good to be true
• The same pictures are used on different listings from different sellers
• They offer big discounts for large purchases

To avoid being scammed:

Ask the seller plenty of questions.

Never agree to buy from an outside website.

Stay safe by using PayPal or an escrow service when dealing with a questionable seller or when it seems too good to be true. For added protection, read up on the eBay Buyer Protection Polices.

Never pay for your eBay item using instant cash transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram or by recharging someone's prepaid credit card. These methods are not safe to pay people you do not know personally. These payment methods are also not eligible for the eBay buyer protection programs.
