At first when I wrote a guide I deleted it when someone gave me a bad rating.
Wrong decision, especially after hours of hard work (for little pay).
INSTEAD:
You can choose not to display your guide if the ratings bother you.
OR
Recognize some people like to give negatives.
So enjoy writing a guide.
You meet all kinds on Ebay.
Sometimes I write guides to help me remember as a self reference. I can easily find links, conversions, etc.
Pretty cool.
So this is YOUR guide. Write what YOU want and ignore the naysayers. Always someone that DOES NOT have something nice to say.
I've never voted a guide negative unless it was a clear ridiculous marketing thing or totally unintelligent. There have been two guides in all my time I rated negative.
On the other hand...I did receive this positive feedback.
Hi! GREAT "Guide" you wrote -- I haven't ever read an Ebay guide until yours, and I was impressed. I just wanted to tell you that, having worked with dried flowers for almost 20 years, and having lots of "how to" books, your Ebay Guide was REALLY impressive and full of great tips I'd never heard before. Recognize most will not bother to rate, and a few will rate negatively sometimes for no valid reason except they are negative people.
But mostly you can make someone's day writing a helpful guide.
You may get a NICE e-mail or two or even make a new friend.
