Identifying a game used bat
- Know what era the bat you are looking at is from . For instance as of 1982 Rawlings bats where all still labeled as Adirondack it was not untill 1983 did the name Rawlings appear on there bats. also staring in 1998 Rawlings changed it logo from the word Rawlings to just the R in the circle. Its the same for Louisville know the era of the bat
- lets talk about the ture marks of an OFFICAL MLB bat. A Louisville bat is pretty easy from 1999-2001 all game issued Louisville bats had the MLB logo stamp on the front the of the barrel (the same side as the words) after 2001 till current the MLB logo appears on the reverse side of the bat along with the TPX logo. the biggest give away is a line under the 125 in Louisville logo If the line its there its not legit. As for a Rawlings bat that a little more difficult. I believe the best way to tell is looking for the numbers 302 on the bat, also make sure its pro model not just some signature bat or a rec. model and last but not least most of the newer game models have the word pro on th bat instead of professional model under the players name(the older models did say professional but so check the era of the bat)
- Above all else do your home work!!!!!!!! If your on ebay you know how to use a computer so search the web.
