I've been going through ebay lately and i've found that they are many fake "chibanez" Jem's. Jems that are made in china. They usually go for about $200 - $1,600 yes thats right $1,600. I've ran into some people who have bought some of theese thinking they're Authentic Jems, Theres a number of ways to tell
1. Handle: The "monkey grip" usualy on the fake jems the "monkey grip"/Handle is HUGE. on an authentic Jem they're are rather small
2. Pickups: True Ibanez Jems have Dimarzio evolution pickups and say at the bottom right hand corner of the pickup. The fake Jems do not have this.
3. Smaller Details : There are smaller detail's to tell such as Pickgaurd shape,Tremolo system having all gold fine tuners, Actual Edge Pro/ Lo Pro Tremolo's have black fine tuners same applies with locking nut.
4. Serial Number. This is the FOR SURE way to tell if the Jem is authentic. Authentic Jems have the serial F9916930 important part being the F if the serial number says C9916930 then its fake, F means it was made in a certain Factory In Japan C means it was made in Korea and JEM7VWH's are NOT MADE IN KOREA. only Jem made in korea is the 555, but that usually has chrome hardware half vine half dot inlay, not to be confused with the Jem7VWH series which have gold hardware and all vine inlay
