PLEASE IF YOU FIND THIS GUIDE HELPFUL VOTE AT THE BOTTOM TO LET OTHERS KNOW...THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO STOP BY AND READ WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN...IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

If you're into tarot card decks, chances are you may initially buy them to do readings with, but as time progresses, chances are you will be overcome with the desire to buy a deck just for it's beauty, or uniqueness, or some other subtle reason. And before you know it, you're sucked in, and have become a hard-core tarot deck collector! And your life will never be the same again! Some are great at controlling themselves in their journey, while others go hog wild...me -- myself, I'd say I fall somewhere in the middle! But, I buy them for two different purposes, sometimes for my own collection, and at other times for the sake of selling to others!

Where do you go to start your collection? Some may go to actual stores, others may buy them online. How do you know what's available, what type of decks are out there, or what to buy? A great place to start if you're a serious collector, or plan to become one, is 'The Encyclopedia of Tarot' - Volumes I, II, III and IV, they are by Stuart Kaplan a world-renowned tarot expert, and each book contains all new information. There is no duplication in any of his books! They are excellent reference sources for information on thousands of tarot decks. To find out more about them...check out my ebay store...I have a set available there. I also carry a nice variety of collectible tarot decks, and I am always on the lookout for new, unique, rare, out-of-print, hard-to-find, self-published, and vintage decks. If you don't see what you are looking for, please ask me...chances are I can get it for you!

Tarot collecting can vary with each person...everyone has different tastes, some may want only artistic decks, or majors only decks, or limited editions...it really depends on the individual. Decks can be fairly easy to find, and others can be downright impossible to find. But sometimes the search, and finding what you're looking for can be all most as fun, as actually getting the deck! Decks can be found in different catergories rare, out-of-print (OOP), hard-to-find (HTF), limited editions, self-published, and vintage.

So if you're servious about starting to collect tarot decks you might want to peruse the Encyclopedia of Tarot, or visit some of the online tarot sites to find out more about particular decks. I would say to narrow your focus initially you might want to sit down and decide what type of decks you want to collect...what are your areas of interest? Do you like unique decks, unusual decks, maybe artistic decks, or decks with a certain theme? Do you want to collect the decks for purposes of readings, or just for the sake of collecting the deck to admire it's beauty, and/or for its value? As with any collectible...something is as collectible as the demand there is for it. And of course, whether it is rare, out-of-print, hard-to-find, a limited edition, self-published, or vintage, and of course the most important thing is what is the condition of the deck? These things will all affect the cost and value of a deck. Can you really place a price on a deck? Any collectible is worth what the buyer is willing to pay!

And of course, we would all love the find the deck we are looking for new, but this isn't always possible -- depending on its age and rarity. Just make sure that whomever you buy from is a reputable seller! Ask questions, especially about the condition of the deck, and for me...I can't stress this point enough. Know who you are buying from, and if they are honest, and stand behind what they sell? For me the most important aspect once I have decided I want to buy a deck is to know how they package it, because that can be the difference between getting it in the condition, that it left the seller, and getting a damaged deck, which is really disappointing! Sometimes it's just best to go with insurance if they offer it, so your covered, especially if you get a buyer who doesn't stand behind their product, and I have been there in that situation with sellers that I have bought decks from...it's not a good place to be! I strive to give my customers the best service possible. I pack all my decks in boxes, and not padded envelopes to as to decrease the possibility of damage from the mailing service! I also send my decks out as soon as payment is received! But I would say the most important thing to me both as a seller and buyer of tarot is honesty in the description of the deck, so the buyer knows what they are getting, and once they have purchased -- they should be confident enough in the buyer to know that if there is a problem, that seller is going to stand behind their product --not matter what! This is where a person's feedback is really imporant! Read it...see what other people's experience has been...then you'll have an idea what to expect from that seller.

I hope that this has helped you with some of your questions, if you still have more, please don't hesitate to e-mail me with further questions and help! Thank you for taking the time to read my guide!
