If you have an item on eBay, you are there for a specific purpose. Selling your item for the highest possible bid is more than likely your goal...so let's discuss a "Marketing Stategy". Being a buyer/seller on eBay and in retail management for over 20 years, many situations arise when buying on eBay becomes a very frustrating experience.
INFORMATION SELLS! The bottom line! When buying clothing (or any item for that matter), we, as a buyer do not care if they don't fit you anymore, or your child has outgrown them, or you bought the wrong size. "Cute" doesn't sell the item...INFORMATION does! We care about details! Fabric blend, inseam length, rise and waist measurements. Information that is directed to the item being sold. The more information available...the less time you need to answer the same question over and over again. On many occasions, I have received responses that "I don't know what you mean by the rise measurement"...knowledge in selling prior to listing your item is to your benefit.
PICTURES! It's true, a picture IS worth a thousand words! Learn to use your camera before listing a bad photo. "One photo" listings are very difficult, although we realize you are avoiding paying an additional fee for a second photo. The fee you pay for a second GOOD photo will be compensated with additional bids...that is your final goal. Photos of an item taken 100 feet away, frankly, is a waste of your time as well as the potential buyer. DETAILS are extremely crucial! Get close...show the details and spend that extra few cents!
As buyers, we don't like waiting for responses to a missed detail and I'm certain as a seller, answering the same question over and over because of a missed detail takes up more time otherwise spent on a great listing. I, personally, have passed on many items simply because (1) the seller never responded, or (2) information/photos were not available. When properly marketed, the item WILL sell itself.
INFORMATION! INFORMATION! INFORMATION! It's a very basic selling technique and does work!
