Sony Vaio Laptop forced to retire in 1 year... has leads to a new business in Laptop Adapters

My history

I studied Computer Science in (SJSU) San Jose State University, San Jose, California.  After about 2 years, I worked as a co-op in IBM, Santa Teresa Lab (now known as Silicon Valley Lab).  My first computer at IBM was a regular, used desktop.

My laptop

I got my first laptop (T20) as my basic equipment, about a year later, I was given a new laptop (T23).  I felt the convenience and flexibility of using a laptop over a regular desktop.  Owners of a laptop can work anytime anywhere is something everyone knows, however, the best part was, I could be using this laptop while I was at home or at work, so any unfinished works became very easy to be picked up while I was back at home.  Being able to work from home is another plus.  My laptop became my best partner in my life.

My first retired Sony (Only 1 year of service)

I bought my first laptop while I was studying Computer Science at SJSU, it was a Sony Vaio laptop, cost me about US$1300 (carry a pentium II 533 chip), back then it was a huge investment, however it was forced to retire about one year of service because the adapter that came with it was dead.  Those days new computer chips came out every months, my laptop was already a few generations old after using for a year.  In deciding whether I should buy a new adapter, or add more money to buy a new laptop was a painful decision.  I figured if I choose to buy a new adapter from Sony, it will cost me US$100 easy!  Those days, when internet was
not as popular as today, not to mention buying a GOOD REPLACEMENT, just to buy a compatible replacement was difficult or almost impossible.  I guess I should say, I have never think of buying a replacement from the internet, it was just too new to feel comfortable.  Since I couldn't find any store carrying electronic products also carry any adapters at all.  Of course, my first priority is, to get the right adapter with less money so that I can continue to use my laptop while feeling good about my findings... eventually, being so busy in our everyday chores, my first laptop was slowly fading out of my life.  I guess I just don't know how and where to buy this nice piece of equipment with less money and without much effort.

After leaving IBM, I bought myself a IBM T43, it was about 3 years ago, I guess I missed the good old days of using a laptop too much, it quickly became my best companion.  I use it everyday for more than 20 hours (I keep it on during the day to create new listings on ebay) to make an income.  It is a solid, sturdy and robust unit, it works very well for 3 years, nonstop.  However, I still remember my purple laptop, the little gadget which was forced out of my life unconsciously.

Creating the business of selling adapters

We have came to the business of selling REPLACEMENT ADAPTERS about 2 year ago when I was in China, searching for the right product that is needed by enough people and help our company to develop new markets.  This product has to be well made, good quality and of high demand.  These small essential laptop equipments has quickly capture my attention, they slip into my mind without much effort.  I remember my purple little guy which was forced out of my life.  In believing this would be a good product, our company decide to go this direction.

Since it is a generic adapter, there is a high learning curve in understanding which adapter fit which laptop.  We search whereever we could get information about laptop adapters, our list couldn't be considered as complete after a year and a half in this business, plus we discovered this list need to be update every week, continuously!  We spend endless days and nights in making our list complete!

My adapter from my IBM T43 laptop retired after about 3 years in service.  I am lucky this time since I quickly change into one of our replacement adapters, which starts working immediately.  Having chosen the right supplier, which makes solid, durable and CE Certify adapters,  my partner has no hiccup in accepting this new equipment, and continue to provide sturdy and solid performance.

Lastly, I wish to point out that we spend almost one year to learn which adapter fit which laptop model, we are very happy to offer advice when we were asked.  Please send us email if you want some reassurance before you buy your new adapter!
Thanks
