Hey Everyone: I was at Barney's (two weeks ago for their annual sale) and checked out the Goyard PM bag which is a really great, good everyday bag, have a kiddie and thought "Hmmm, can I get one used but in good condition type thing on Ebay?" Big Mistake! I bought it on "Buy Now" for $358. I got a little nervous when I got the package and opened it. It was rolled up in ratty old plastic torn paper and had that weird icky fakey smell. I looked at it carefully and although I started feeling like an idiot, had it checked out....FAKE! I e-mailed the Seller and said that I was a bag collector, had bought many amazing good authentic bags (Chloe & Lanvin but they did come w/original receipts) on Ebay and was really upset that they ripped me off, the Seller was pretty much like "Oh well". They said "it's the color of what you bidded on right?" and I said "Yeah, but it's not authentic." After going back and fourth, they finally gave in and said that they would not take the bag back, but credit me $185....this was three days ago and now they have completely blown me off. My point is that there are some really good people out there who buy "real deal" bags, use them for awhile, get bored and sell them. Then there are the loser people out there that just screw people over. BE CAREFUL . Okay, I am done. Best of luck. Riley P.S. Barney's used to have pictures of the Goyard bags in all colors, sizes online. I noticed recently they no longer have them online but if you go to Barney's Beverly HIlls, they are located on the 1st floor, middle section (you can't miss them). Good Luck! ....cut to.....it's been a few weeks, (7/6/07) celebrated my 40th and decided to go for it buy a GOYARD for my birthday. Bought it directly from Barney's Beverly Hills. I wanted blue but instead went with Black and it also has red/yellow/green stripes painted down the middle. pretty spectacular. plain is $940 but w/stripes i paid $1095 not including tax. One thing I noticed which is IMPORTANT for all the people who have e-mailed me is that the button is not painted the color of the bag. the snap is silver/stainless steeel with a G on it. Also, the leather handles have that wonderful smell of good leather. The scarey thing is that the hemp is identical to the fake that I bought. I compared the two. I hope this is helpful for you all. Someone from Ebay e-mailed me who is selling one telling me that I am basically nuts. that they buy from a "whole seller" and the snaps are always painted...wrong! Just do your homework or call Barney's, Bergdorf & Goodman, or the Goyard in S.F.! I am more than happy to give you the person's name I dealt with at Barney's. oh wait....one more thing....Not sure about Bergdorf Goodman or the actual Goyard store, but at Barney's they do not have the goyard tag hanging from the bag....just the barney's price tag.
