If you are a gamer, whether it be casual or hardcore, you own a PS2. The PS2 has been declared the best gaming platform ever made (for 3D games). With 120 million sales worldwide and 8 years later there's no denying the gaming juggernaut's unstoppable onslaught of the best exclusive games around. While the PS2 was the weaker of the 3 consoles (Xbox, GameCube) there were a few spotlights that showed us the PS2 can really kick butt and go the extra 10 miles. While we didn't get to see the PS2's full potential until the last 2 years the PS2 still had great looking games for every generation of games that came out. Below are 5 games (in order of graphical achievement) that really showed that the PS2 can look better than the competition.

1. God of War II - God of War really redefined the action adventure genre with a superb fighting system, a great story, and super awesome monsters to kill. Not only this but God of War II is considered the single best looking game on the PS2 and also the last. If you had a great time with the first one you must pick this up because no action adventure, PS2, of God of War fan should be without.

2. Gran Turismo 4 - If you don't like racing simulators then this game isn't for you. If you only like game like Need for Speed and Burnout then this game, also, isn't for you. If you are a racing or car buff then this is for you! If you loved GT3 or any of it's PS1 predecessors then you should dig right into GT4. GT4 came out right when the PS2 was at it's peak and after GT4 was launched all you heard was "I didn't know the PS2 could do that" and thus set the graphical bar even higher. With photo realistic cars, real life tracks, and an amazing physics engine GT4 will have you braking and switching gears for hours. Don't forget to the pick up the GT4 Logitech racing wheel which you can get now for less than $50!

3. Okami - Okami is on this list thanks to its one-of-a-kind gorgeous art style. With "block art" style ancient Japanese art Okami is something to really feast your eyes on. While there are no voices Okami has a charming story with 40+ hours of amazing gameplay. What makes Okami so great is it's unique brush mechanic that you use to fight monsters and solve puzzles. If you love art, wolves, or painting, or just action adventure games period you'll have a blast with Okami. And no it didn't rip of Twilight Princess it's not even the same game.

4. Final Fantasy XII - Final Fantasy games have always set the bar graphically for the PlayStation consoles, and FF12 is no exception. FF12 came out just before the next-gen craze and people said "if it weren't for the "jaggies" FF12 would look like a next-gen game". While it now has real-time combat and has the same lore as the MMO Final Fantasy XI Online you'll get a kick with the 80+ hours of gameplay here. If you didn't like the previous FF games give this one a whirl and I'm sure you'll accept.

5. Shadow of the Colossus - SotC was one the first games that really pushed the PS2 to it's limits, but a little too far. While SotC has some slowdown and a few camera and control issues they are easily overlooked as you take down massive Colossi that take up 4 screens at a time. Explore the huge open world and it will be the best 10 or so hours you have ever spent with your PS2.
