If you do have a GameCube (despite it's poor sales only 70 million sold worldwide) there are some games that really shined and helped push the other two systems (PS2, Xbox) to new heights. While the GameCube didn't have many great games, like the PS2, there were still some excellent gems that shined and outdid games of that generation. The GameCube was great for single player experiences that were really crazy and out of this world and stayed away from the realism that the Xbox or PS2 pounded up so much. Here are 5 games that pushed the GameCube in order of graphical achievement.
1.
Resident Evil 4 - Resident Evil 4 was probably the best looking game of the last generation right under God of War II. RE4 presented an excellent atmosphere and really revolutionized survival horror games. From the over-the-shoulder camera to the scary chainsaw zombies other games have copied Capcom's perfection over and over again. While it looks better than the PS2 version (even though the PS2 version is superior in all the other ways) it just looked so amazing you wanted to play through multiple times and I guarantee you will.

2.
Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II - You may know Level 5 from the excellent Dragon Quest VIII more than this game. Level 5 has been renown to push consoles to their limits early in their life cycles. RS2 amazed people all over the world since RS2 really looks astounding to this day, and to push a console like this on launch is one rare achievement indeed. Any Star Wars or space combat fan should play this since it features super fast and easy to control space battles.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Whether or not you like Metroid's formula of gameplay (it feels a bit stale now-a-days) there's no denying how amazing this game looks. From water trickling down Samus' visor to seeing your reflection of your face in her visor to the high res textures and beautiful level design this is a treat for your eyes to feast on. I highly suggest picking up this game (and it's original which looked amazing when that game came out). While the Metroid games are short and a bit tedious due to backtracking there is a lot to love in this game.

4.
The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker - Windwaker isn't on here because of tons of polygons or high res textures, but for it's amazing art style. Like Okami did for the PS2 Windwaker gave us a beautiful art style to run Link around in and it was a warm welcome. While some people bashed the game saying "it looks like a kid's game" it fit the charm of the series and went into a great new direction. If you've played Twilight Princess then I highly suggest this game since it won't disappoint.

5.
Super Smash Bros. Melee - The SSB series has always been a huge hit with Nintendo fans since the 32 bit era. With Melee we got more characters, plus all the original stuff from the original. What made Melee so great was it's 4 player addition. With no online play you can take any 4 of your friends and brawl it up with your favorite Nintendo characters. Melee is also one of the best looking games on the GameCube and Nintendo has never disappointed us with graphics.
