I am a stay at home mother of two beautiful wonderful children. When I became pregnant with my first child I became obsessed with trying to find her a great infant car seat. She was born in 2003 so the Britax Companion was not out yet but I bought a Graco which seemed to do the trick for her as an infant. She was a small baby so she did not get placed into a convertible car seat until she was one. Before that time came I again was obsessed with trying to find her the safest on the market. I went to all the stores trying everything humanly possible with the seats and found that the Britax Roundabout was the seat for me. There wasn't anything I tired that it didn't pass. As soon as we placed her in the seat she smiled and seemed to be in heaven. The seat had tons of padding and was the easitest seat to install that I have ever tried. My son was born in early 2005 and though the companion WAS out on the market we just used our daughters old infant car seat for him. He was only in it for such a short time, he is a really big boy. Well when it came time to put him in a seat I went right back to Britax. I purchased a Marathon and placed my daughter in that and him in the Roundabout. Well stupid me listened to a friend who said that the Combi Victoria was an excellent seat and that I should use that seat for my son. Of course I listened and bought that seat and sold my roundabout. Well as soon as I got the Combi I hated it. It literally takes me and my husband to install the seat. I have to push the seat down with all my might and he, a very strong military man, has to pull so hard to tighten it down that I thought the seat was going to break. We never took the seat out of the car in fear of having to put it back in. It takes over 30 minutes to get it in. Well I had had it with the Combi so I just bought my daughter the Husky from Britax and my son will be in the Marathon from now on. I even went and purchased a Roundabout for the little boy I take care of. I will never buy anything but a Britax. They are by far the safest, most realiable, durable and easiest to install I have ever found. I tell everyone about them and they all buy them and feel the same way. My kids absolutely love the britax seats and I know yours will to.
Update: 2/12/2007
Well the same is still true today. I LOVE MY BRITAX SEATS. I currently now own 5 of them and everyone I know is buying them. I have people coming to me and asking which seats to buy for their kids, I have researched them all, and still send them to Britax for older children. Since the new consumer report came out on infant seats I suggest the Graco usually for an infant but still say that the Britax convertible car seats and booster seats are great and will continue to use them until my children no longer need a seat.
