I am selling my suzuki intruder under 290060324340. So far I have received two emails from the same scammer who has two ebay id's, one with positive feedbacks he collected years ago (he hasn't done any business for the past 2-3 years) and another brand new one with zero feedback. Here is what he writes: (Cut and pasted exactly as he writes)
" am interested in your item. The problem is that I am a little confused because I've seen another item exactly like yours. Please take a look : (URL REMOVED SO THAT NOBODY ACCIDENTALLY TRIES TO ACCESS IT) Please let me know your last price."
He isn't very bright because he wrote two identical emails using the two different ebay ids. Like I said I removed the long url but if you tried to go to where he says my bike is at at the other place it just takes you to a fake ebay page asking for your login. Becasue he failed to dupe me the first time he tried again this time using his older id with the feedback. What is really upsetting is that in spite of letting Ebay know this they have yet to take any action and shut this guy down. Their security is slow to respond and is not working well so we are left out here to fend for ourselves. BE CAREFUL and question any strange emails and do not respond to them as this might install spyware into your pc from which they will then gather your info.
UPDATE ON 12/16/06 A NEW TWIST. What appears to be happening as well is that this guy was after all sucessful in duping other legitimate ebayers into giving him their passwords and is now using their legitimate ebay id's to send these fake messages out. I confirmed this by contacting one such ebayer who had supposedly sent me one of the messages (from England) by going around the email that had been sent to me and contacting him directly through a page where he was also selling an item. He said he had never sent me any email. I told him what was going on and suggested he immediately change his password as this guy was using his, among other ebay ids, in order to try to get even more people to give him their info.I have received a total of 3 such fraudulent messages informing me my bike was for sale elsewhere. Unbelievable.
