Hydrothermal Quartz is NOT quartz. It does not come out of the ground. It is not a gemstone. It is largely a bunch of lab created CZ material being passed off under a fancy name. Or glass if it originates in India.
1) Does it originate from China or thereabouts? If yes, it's a CZ.
2) Does it originate form India? If yes, then it's either a CZ (bought from HK) or plain ol' glass: look for bubbles.
3) Does it originate from elsewhere? Oops, gotcha! Then they bought it from India or China.
Don't waste your money. You want a CZ? They can be great! But they are a heckuva lot cheaper than this hydro quartz bologna that was created (incredibly CHEAPLY) to rip off people with lots of discretionary income and taste for fine gemstone goods. Be a smart shopper! Don't reinforce their perception that Americans will fall for anything.
You can't put a dress on a pig and call it a princess. Hydro Quartz is a CZ pig in a dress.
