As per the customers request, we shipped a 6.5hp Hydra jett unit to Huston Texas, the customers associate then picked it up from Houston and drove it in the back of a pick-up truck to Mexico about 600 miles from original destination. We had no discussion with the customer about the type of terrain or drilling conditions prior to shipping , He simply called and ordered a 6.5hp drilling rig and instructed us to ship it to Houston, where they would pice it up at the FedEx terminal. When did the damage of this rig really occur? We at Hydra Fab were not informed of any damage by the customer or FedEx Freight until after it was in use in Mexico. According to customer the rig was unusable and a 6 year old could dig deeper with a shovel. After speaking with the customer and his associated in Mexico, it sounded as if they were attempting to drill through hard rock with a 6.5hp rig.
99% of all U.S. company's have strick return policies 1.) 7 - 10 days Money back if UNUSED. 2) DAMAGED PARTS are shipped back first than replacement parts are sent. 3.) Money back on equipment but shipping back is customers responsibility.
Even with our policy, and under the circumstances, we still offered this customer a full refund plus all shipping costs, all Hydra-Fab requested is that the customer arrange to get the equipment back to Houston, where we originally shipped it, but, the customer refused. He first wanted Tim King to fly to Mexico and assist with drilling. Then he wanted us to refund his money and leave it to HydraFab to retrieve our equipment somewhere in Mexico. Tim King tried to resolve this problem simply by giving him a full refund including the cost of shipping back from Houston, the original shipping destination, but the customer refused to cooperate in any way.
