Under "normal" circumstances, hunting can be a real challenge.

When you add in a disability it can turn your hunting experience into a true night mare. and an overwhelming feeling of uselessness.

The key to overcoming these feelings and making your hunting experience all that it was and more than it is:  IS Having the "I am not a quitter" attitude.

There are many old and new items out there that are focused around the handicapped. Here are a few eBay links to items that may be of help.

  • The cross bow, for those of use who can no longer pull a compound, recurve bow.
  • All terrain wheelchairs, for those who can no longer stroll out to the blind.
  •  Camouflage Scooters for getting you out to your blind when the wheelchair is too difficult.
  • ladder stands, when putting up a tree stand is too difficult.
  • Pop up blinds, for easy set up and take down.

many many more items from release aids to books to clubs and hunts are available to help with your limitations. active outside links are forbidden so these are just copy and paste after the HTTP://  WWW. in your address browser.

some great articles, products and sites include:

  • Pullin archery.com
  • Sugar Land Archery.com
  • Universal outfitters int.com
  • shooting-hunting.com : just do a search of handicapped hunting and every state that offers a handicapped club or group comes up.
  • huntingnet.com
  • bowhunting.net/pcba/individual-corp.html
  • disabledhunting.net/
  • southernbowhunter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6231
  • oegmag.com/archeryacc.asp
  • lcweb.loc.gov/nls/reference/circulars/sports.txt
  • outdoorsyp.com/index.asp?searchkey=1410

This is just a very small list of the sites that can be found for helping and teaching the disabled hunter and fellow hunters on how to cope and deal with thier physical limitations.

more and more companies are focusing on the physically challenged population.

I hope that this helps others out thier like myself who face these impairments and wish to still enjoy thier love of hunting and spending time in the outdoors with nature.

Please check them out and use them to help the challenged hunter in your life.
