I have been writing a number of reviews in the past few months.  I have noticed a bit of an issue when I'm about to write a review.  A number of people are using the review process for leaving "extra" feedback about a selling experience.

Examples of this are:

The item arrived on time and it was well packaged.  Thank you.

or

Do not buy from this person as the item was not as described.

EBay suggests the following when you start thinking about a review:

You can write a simple review (for example, analyze a movie you've seen) or give first-hand information about an electronic product (perhaps you're a digital camera expert). This is your opportunity to share your opinions and expertise, and help others in the community.

Consider these tips when writing a review or guide:

• Be descriptive. If you're writing a review, explain the reasons behind the rating you gave the product.
• Write clearly. Use proper punctuation, spelling and grammar.
• For reviews, write about the things you like and dislike about the product.

The true use of the review section is to provide your opinion on an item. 

Ebay once again suggests the following advice on how to now write a review:

Things to avoid:

• Off-topic comments
• Inappropriate remarks, personal attacks or profanity
• Contact information, including your phone number and address
• Links outside of eBay and HTML tags

My advice is to inform the creator of a review by using the "contact" button.  Help us educate our members and help them create better reviews
