The 1 - 2 - 3 Easy Guide for the use of eyelets in scrapbooking
You will need an eyelet setter, a hole punch tool, a hammer tool and a setting mat which is usually made out of thick rubber material
Place your setting mat (to save your table top) on a hard surface like your desk or table.
Place your project paper on the mat (if you have not used eyelets before, try it with some blank paper first).
Hold your hole punch tool on top of the spot where you want to place your eyelet. Tap the top of the hole punch tool and punch firmly with the hammer, a small hole punch also might do the trick. Your paper will now show a little hole that has the correct size for the shaft of your eyelet.
Insert the narrow end of the eyelet into the hole with the wider side up. This side will be your finished view.
Turn the paper over (with the top part of the eyelet down) so that you can see the back (shaft part) of your eyelet. Center the eyelet setter with the center of the flower like looking tip in the shaft part.
Tap the eyelet setter firmly with the hammer. It will take one or two firm taps to secure the eyelet in your paper. The back of the eyelet will split and resemble little flower petals when set.
It will take a few tries to get used to setting eyelets, but once you have done it several times it will be just as easy as using a piece of tape.
Eyelets now do not just come in round colored shapes, but also in fun versions that can underline your projects in a very unique way.
