This is a  brief explanation of the most common way to carry your baby in a wrap. This is called the front cross carry. There are many many many different ways to carry your baby with a wrap this is just one. I believe this is one of the best most comfortable way to carry your baby. And while it may seem hard to do it the first time please try it a few times it does not take long to become proficient in using a baby wrap.

First find the center of your wrap, by folding it in half length wise. Then place it around your waist with the center of the wrap being at your bellybutton.

Take the ends of your wrap behind you and criss cross them leaving the front loose enough for your baby to fit inside, then bring the ends of your wrap over your shoulders. It is much more comfortable if your wrap is not twisted, then spread out your wrap over your shoulders, this will also make it more comfortable by distributing the baby's weight more evenly across your shoulders.

Now you are ready to take your ends and place them inside the band you made by placing the center of the wrap on your belly button., once the tails are inside criss cross them, this is where your baby will be sitting in the criss cross. Now you can tie the ends of your wrap in the back, or if the tails are to long then bring them back around and tie them in the front, I often have my older children hold onto my tails so I can keep track of them. Make sure your knot is secure and not too loose.

Now we are ready for baby. Place baby high on one should then insert leg into one side of the pocket made by your front cross and pull the fabric securely over her bottom then switch to the other shoulder and repeat making sure that both sides of the cross are pulled around her bottom will make baby very secure. Then pull the band that you made in the very beginning over baby hiding her feet or pull it all the way up leaving her feet out.

Success!!! This is what your wrap will look like from the front and. You can tuck your baby completly inside the shoulder fabric, if baby is still very small or sleeping, or if you have alot of bending over to do. You can carry baby completely hands free when she is all tucked away inside.
