In this guide I will show you how to enter unlock codes into your Motorola cell phone so that it will be unlocked from your current provider. First you need an unlock code of course. If you don't have an unlock code yet, please visit my eBay store: UnlockBase, select the correct store category, and then order an unlock code. No cable or software needed! Just enter the code that you will receive from me and you'll have an unlocked Motorola cell phone! Unlocking by entering a code on your phone's keypad is called "unlock by imei". Indeed, it is the most convenient way to unlock your cell phone.

Unlock TREO 650 Tutorial

Step 1

1 - If the Palm Sync software is running you need to shut it:
2 - Check in your taskbar for the Hotsync icon then right click and Exit.
3 - If you have Microsoft Active sync on your PC it should also be Disabled.

Step 2 : Installing Software

1 - Download Application
2 - Install it
3 - Now, You can download the drivers from this link
4 - Install it this will install the drivers to a folder called "Treo Unlock Drivers" on your hard drive.

Step 3 : Launch Software

DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING ELSE ON SCREEN AT THIS STAGE

STEP 4 : Connect TREO

1 - Remove the Treo Battery Door.
2 - Turn on the Treo.
3 - Connect USB cable to the Treo and PC (SIM Card can be in or out)

THEN PLEASE FOLLOW THE NEXT SEQUENCE EXACTLLY

1 - Push the sync button on the cable and hold (Do NOT release)
2 - Using stylus push the reset button on rear of Treo (Hold in for one Second)
3 - Now release the reset button and then release the Sync button
4 - The phone display should Now be Red-Green etc and have the boot loader Version displayed.
5 - The phone is Now in Test Mode.

Now Windows should detect a new device you need to install the Drivers.

Step 5 : Installing Driver

1 - When windows ask for drivers, tick the option to install from a list or specific location then click next.

Step 6 : Reading the Unlock Codes

Click “Execute” on the Server Software “Internet Explorer that still running” it should take less than 5 seconds to display Codes. Server Software should display similar to the Following:

----------------------------
MEP CODE 12345678

CODE1 12345678
CODE2 12345678
CODE3 12345678
CODE4 12345678

If you get to “generating codes” and the computer just sits there. Then your Treo has Frozen some applications in Memory and it causing this to Crash. You will need to do a “Soft reset” first and try the process again. If this doesn’t work you need to do a “Hard reset” before you will be able to read the Codes.

7) The phone at this stage, MIGHT ask for the pin number if so, type in the 4 digit pin number for the sim card, supplied your sim by your operator.
8) The phone will now say sim not allowed, or perform a network search, sometimes the phone will just sit searching for a network and not stop, if this happens and it goes on longer than 30 to 40 seconds, press the power / end button again Click ok.
9) You are now returned to the dial pad but the phone “on” symbol is on the top lift of the display, or possibly reads “SMS Mode” or “Emergency Calls Only”

Enter Only the MEP Unlock Code as Follows

*#*#MEP_CODE#

NOW PRESS DIAL

The phone will Now reset and say “sim lock removed” it is now ready to use with any Sim Card.

Please Note the sometimes, the phone will start searching for network and just lock up after 3 or 4 minutes.

If this happens do a “Soft reset” on the phone and try again.
