Yesterday's Thoughts-Today's Dreams-Tomorrow's Reality!
You can turn your hobbie into a profit, what ever it is you have a talent at and love doing even if it is for free you would do everyday. Such as woodworkings, carvings, drawings, paintings, sewing, knitting, photography, web developement, writing, soap or candle making. Just anything.
You do not have to go out and buy supplies as if you are about to hit it big and sell thousands of your items. Keep it simple! Start with what you have on hand and see how it goes.
One of the important things starting out is the pricing. First of all you need to figure the cost of your supplies and break it down to how much you invest into just one of your items. Then you need to make a profit. Now there are so many ways to figure a profit.
For example, you may decide how many hours you have into your project and charge an hourly rate. I have a friend that is a seamstress, she will not crank up her machine for less than $20.00 per hour.
Now for another way to charge your labor you could take the amount you spend in supplies and double that. If you are not at least doubling your money you are wasting your time.
Last you may just add a flat amount to each creation.
You may consider branding your projects as well. They are your own hand made creations, if you have tapped into a market people really love you will have word of mouth about your items. Then you will see orders left and right. You could eventually end up being on back order, having to hire a helper to prep for you, take call in orders, package and ship for you. Now that would be the yesterdays thoughts-todays dreams-tomorrows reality!
Start now by doing some research on your projects, search ebay for simular items. Also look online for the same. See the quality of the product and compare to your own. Check the prices. Do not get discouraged if you see low prices, lower than you can buy the supplies for. This could be someone that got it as a gift, or simply clearing out some well needed space. set your reasonable price and stick to it. They may sell cheap but you will win in the end with your Quality! No one can stay in business selling lower than the cost of materials and supplies.
Now get busy making some CA$H out of your hobbies.
