HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF DIFFERENT WAYS TO TIE SARONGS. WHILE THESE ARE JUST A FEW, THE LIMITS ARE ONLY SET BY YOUR IMAGINATION. SARONGS CAN ALSO BE USED AS TABLE COVERS, TABLE RUNNERS, FURNITURE THROWS, CAR SEAT COVERS, WALL HANGINGS, CURTAINS, BEDSPREDS AND MANY OTHER IMAGINATIVE USES.

Long skirt:  Hold the sarong so that the unfringed edges are top and bottom and the fringed edges are verticle.  Wrap either right to left or left to right whichever you prefer and tie in a knot at the waist. HINT:  if you are thin take the material inside of the ends so the knot is not so bulky.  Also if you tie the waist loose as in the photo you get the island look. If you tie tigher the waist will come higher.

You can do the same thing with a short sarong .

Long skirt bottom fringe:  Hold the sarong so the fringed edges are top and bottom. The non fringed edges are verticle. Wrap around the waist and tie in a knot. NOTE:  this works better on thinner people as you are using the shorter length of the sarong to do this.

You can do the same thing with a short sarong .  NOTE:  this works well on kids and small adults if the sarong is short.

Double fringed skirt:  You will be holding the sarong with the fringe top and bottom and un fringed edges going vertically.  Fold the sarong so 1/3 of the material shows beneath the top layer. You will be folding over the top in 1/3 or 2/3 lengths which ever you prefer. The photo shows 2/3 of the material folded over.  Tie in a knot at the side on the waist.

Front fringe wrap:  Hold the sarong so the unfringed edges are top and bottom and the fringed edges are verticle. Center the material in the middle of your back so you are standing in front of the sarong. Tie the ends in the front around where your belly button is.  HINT: The looser you tie the more island the look. The tighter you tie the more the waist comes higher.

You can do the same thing with a short sarong .

Long wrap skirt:  This is the traditional south pacific method of wrapping a sarong. It is probably not the most practical. Pretend it is a towel and you are just out of the shower or pool. Secure by holding one end to your stomach. Wrap the sarong around your body and tuck the free end into the waist band. The sarong needs to be wrapped snugly or it will require constant attention. This method takes practice. NOTE:  People in the south pacific normally wear something under sarongs like shorts however a bathing suit bottom would work nicely.

Strapless Dress:  Hold the sarong so the unfringed edges are top and bottom and fringed edges are verticle. The sarong will be behind you. Grab one upper fringed corner and grab one corner a bit back from the end so you can grab enough material to tie to the free end on the other side. You will wrap this free end to your opposite shoulder and tie to the piece of inside material you have just grabbed. The tie will be by the shoulder and the verticle fringed opening will be to the side and in front and their should be a small flap of material inside of the exposed fringe kind of like a wrap skirt.

Shoulder tie dress:    Hold the sarong so the unfringed edges are top and bottom and fringed edges are verticle. Grab both upper fringed edges. The sarong will be behind you. Wrap one side all the way around behind your back and over one shoulder from back to front.  The fringed end on the other side should be in front of you. Pull it up to tie over the shoulder with the one coming from around back.

Front fringed polynesian dress:  Hold the sarong so the fringed edges are verticle and the un fringed edges are top and bottom. You will grab both upper fringed corners. The sarong will be centered behind you. Bring the free top ends around and tie snugly in the center in the front above the chest. The fringe will go vertically down the center of the middle of your body.

NOTE:  You can also twist the ends instead of tying them in the center of the chest and bring the free ends up behind the neck and tie behind the neck like a halter top for more security.

If you have 2 short sarongs and you want to make an outfit you can tie one as a top and one as a skirt.  For the skirt you can use any of the methods above.  For the top if you want a tube top effect without the stretch simply fold the short sarong in half the long way and center it in the middle of the chest and tie the ends in the middle of the back.  You can do the reverse if you want a sexier look. Put the flat part in the center of the back, pull the ends to the front and tie in the middle between the bust.  If you have enough material you can twist instead of tie between the bust, bring the free ends up behind the neck and tie behind the neck like a halter top.

OK sorry this is it. Ebay only allows me 10 photos.
