A lot of people always ask "How do you take such clear pictures?" so I thought I'd just jot it down here to make it easier to let people know. Of course, to some this is common knowledge so I apologize if this is a 'duh' guide. However, for new ebay sellers just starting out I think it will help them to know the basics of taking good pictures.
- Take your pictures OUTSIDE without using the flash.
This is what I tell everyone. The natural sunlight is your best bet for beautiful pictures. This is how you can get the truest color of your item. Always take your pictures with the sun behind you, and preferably not shining directly on your item. Have your camera settings so that you are not using a flash. Hold the camera very still. Have a neutral background behind your item. I use a painted gray blend canvas that seems to go fine with just about any color item I am photographing.

No fancy, expensive lighting systems.
Even black photographs well under these conditions!

For closeups, most digital cameras have a 'macro' setting which again, works best in bright natural sunlight. Again, you will need to hold the camera very still so that they dont come out blurry.

My camera is a Canon Powershot SD1000 7.1 megapixel which is a great little digital camera. Not too fancy, but does a great job, and it was just around $200. So not bad as far as pricing goes.
