Okay, well I have been on trading sites and buying/selling/trading. We all have discussions on whether there is a fake autograph, or fake patch, or fake rookie card. Here are some tips on how to spot fake stuff like that.

Fake Kobe Bryant Signed Basketball:

Fake George Best Signed Picture

Fake 2005 Rich Aurillia Patch

Fake Quad Logo Patch

PATCHES:

Most eBay sellers buy a cheap card that they get on eBay, then they put the back on eBay (same card), with a fake patch. If they show the serial numbering, then it is easy to tell. But what you should do is go back to see their feedback, then what they bought, if you see that exact card with the same numbering, STAY AWAY. Most fake patches aren't put on eBay till months after so you can't see what they bought in that "90 Day" time line. If you are skeptical about a fake patch, do this first. Go to where you see the bidder (under where it says the shipping info at the top of the page, which is under the price) there, you should see the bidder, with something like "s***t (1058 *)" if you see that, then that is good. But if you see this, "PRIVATE" then that is BAD, that usually means that it is a fake patch so that people who DO realize its fake, can't tell the people that are bidding to withdraw their bid.

SIGNED MEMORABILIA:

Now onto some of the MOST fakes on eBay. ONLY BUY FROM reputable companies. Such as, PSA/DNA ... GAI ... JSA ... UDA ... Steiner ... TriStar ... Green Diamond ... SuperStar Sports ... and a couple others. These autographs are guaranteed, without certificates of authenticity from the above companies, that doesn't mean its fake, but it means that is most likely is fake. There has been a proven issue that over 80% of eBay autographs are fake. Yes, that DOES mean that you should buy ONLY autographs  that are from those companies I discussed. DON'T BE FOOLED BY EBAY TITLES!! Some eBay titles say things like "PSA/DNA Guaranteed" THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS REAL! You have to be careful and read the description that actually says it comes with a authenticity from PSA/DNA. Some eBay sellers use their own "certificate of authenticity" well, as most people say about that is ... "It's not worth the paper it is printed on". Which means, I can make one of those for a fake autograph easily. It's not that hard, and that's what they do!! Just be careful, and if there is something that you want that is "high end" go to this: http://www.psadna.com/quickopinion/

It's cheap and it will tell you if it's real or not.

FAKE ROOKIE CARDS:

One of the most faked rookie cards out there is of course, the 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan RC (Rookie Card). The ONLY time I buy high end rookie cards is if they re "slabbed" or "encased" into a case from the following companies: PSA ... BGS ... BVG ... BCCG ... GAI. They will be guaranteed to be real. The only thing you need to look out for when buying a older rookie card is the INK QUALITY! If it looks like modern ink, DON'T buy it, because most likely it is fake.

Real Jordan:

Fake Jordan:

As you can see above, they TRY to make the print quality look older, but failed. Don't be fooled!

Fake Jordan:

You can tell the difference easily on those above pictures.

Once again, the print quality comes into play on those above pictures.

Thanks for reading everyone. If you have any further questions, only hesitate to ask!
