So you have wonderful artwork. And it's selling! What great news! So now what? How do you mail your ACEO's in a way that sets your artwork apart and gives a lasting presentation experience?

I can not stress more about shipping presentation. If you do a great job, your buyer will remember. If you do a poor job, your buyer will remember that too! And believe it or not, your presentation upon delivery can be the difference between having a repeat buyer or not.

The main thing I have seen as an ACEO buyer is that most sellers are very concerned about making sure the artwork is not bent in the mail. This is a very important thing, so I agree with the concern. However, using un-attractive "things" to ensure the stability of your art is not a good idea. Go ahead and recycle BUT you need to take the time to make your "recyclables" look attractive. Make sure they are cut neatly. Do NOT send a piece of falling apart cardboard. Just take a moment to trim the edges, maybe add some pen work, a "thank you", stickers, anything that says you took the time to make your stuff look nice for the buyer.

My second idea for you is to make your own envelopes!  This takes a little time on your part but it can be well worth it. I have had as many compliments about my shipping presentation as I have had on my artwork itself.  Here's what you do.

Get some card stock or some heavy paper, tape and scissors. Do a search for "free envelope templates" or "ATC envelope templates".  Find one you like &  print it out or make your own! Use your template to cut out your envelope. Fold, tape and go!  It's really not that hard and once you see some examples you will get the hang of it in no time!

You can make larger envelopes and then use small bubble mailers to mail your artwork OR you can make small, sized to fit ACEO exactly envelopes and mail them in stiff greeting cards. Using card stock to make your envelopes adds that "stiffness" you need to ensure that your artwork does not get bend and gives you a wonderful presentation.

And secondly, personalize! Let your buyer know that they are important. Take the time to hand write "thank you" on their invoice. It's nice and it gets your point across. They took the time to browse hundreds of ACEO's looking for that perfect piece of art to add to their collection and they choose YOURS! Another thing that a lot of buyers appreciate is an email letting them know that you got their payment and their item is in the mail and on it's way.  This way they know that all is well and they can start looking for the shipment to arrive. If you use paypal to print your labels, an email will go to them automatically and include a tracking number. I use this faithfully when selling because I appreciate it as a buyer.

You can also buy premade ACEO "exact" size envelopes right here on ebay.

Search "ACEO envelopes"

Happy Selling! =)
