Forget super huge 52 inch LCD screens, they're expensive. Why go bigger when better is easier?  Dual 19" monitors will give you nearlt three feet of screen space, or desktop real estate.  You can use your 2 brand new LCD Monitors that you just purchased or two CRT monitors or even a combination of  one type each.

A dual monitor system is an incredibly ingenious, low cost way to increase your productivity or your fun.  Think of the multiple windowsw you can open up at the same time and see them all without minimizing them. The convenience of drop and drag while working between files and programs.  The ability to watch a DVD movie on one screen and still prepare that report for your boss. (Not recommended but it's possible). If you have the need for an expanded desktop (and who doesn't?) it's literally as easy as adding another card and another monitor.

Individuals as well as businesses can benefit from this configuration.  We at HCDI use this system on all of oour business computers to better serve you, our customers. We can upgrade your system for you at some additoional cost when you order. If you would rather do it yourself, see below:

Requirements:

Two LCD or CRT monitors or a combination of either.

One computer.(We suggest a Dell, Dude)

Windows OS 2000 or XP (XP takes all of the guess work out).

One additional graphic card from the same vendor as the one you already have installed in your computer. (In other words, if you have an ATI Radeon card,l you'll need one more).

Or, a dual PCI or VGA video card and the software drivers. (changing out your card requires some experience and some advanced computer knowlege).

      Find your card.

To find out which card is presently installed in your computer, go to Start menu.

Control panel.

System.

Click on the hardware tab.

Click on the device manager.

Click on the +plus sign next to Display Adaptors.

Note the brand and model number on a piece of paper.

Click the "X" at the top of the box to close everything.

Click cancel to close your device manager.

Remember not to make any changes.

To add a second card or replace the current card with a dual head card-

Install the drivers for the card.  (Note- if you are using the same brand and model, skip this step as the drivers will already be installed).

power down your computer.

unplug your power source.

Open your computer.

Remember to stay grounded, static electricity can build up in your body and damage your computer's internal parts.

Locate your graphics card to exchange or an available PCI slot to add.

Remove the retaining screw from the card slot.

Gently push the second card into the slot or remove the current card and exchange it with the dual head card.
