One of the most frequent questions I am asked is how to safely ship stamps through the mail. I have successfully shipped thousands of stamps without one ever being damaged. Here is my formula of success to safely ship your stamp safely through the mail.
1. I first place the stamp which I have sold in a #102 dealer card which can be purchased right here on ebay. NEVER tape the top of the card shut!! I have received numerous stamps in the mail in which the dealer taped the top of the card and during delivery the stamp moved and became stuck to the tape. The chemicals used in the adhesive on tape can not be removed from the surface of a stamp rendering the stamp damaged. Shown below is an image of a standard #102 dealer card.
2. I then place the dealer card between two pieces of cardboard cut to the precise size of the dealer card. I use three pieces of scotch tape to tape the bottom, left and right sides together. Again, do not tape the top.
3. I neatly fold the ebay receipt around the cardboard. I then place the entire parcel into a regular Mead #10 4 1/8 x 9 ½ envelope and seal the back with a piece of scotch tape.
It’s that easy! As I mentioned before I have shipped thousands of stamps with no problems.
